April 12 – 14: Springtime at the Ranch

It’s going to be a beautiful spring Friday in Oak Glen today, with sunshine and a forecast high of 60–perfect weather to grab an apple burrito at the snack bar and enjoy in our picnic park đŸ§ș

Tomorrow and Sunday are bringing the April showers that May flowers need, and you can enjoy the rainy ambiance as you browse through gifts and goodies at the shops, then cozy up to a plate of delicious food at KlĂŒddes Restaurant. We’re not expecting any snow in the lower elevations, just a light dusting on the peaks, so bring your camera and a jacket to enjoy a lovely spring weekend with us đŸŒș

March 2024 Update: Kluddes Cast Iron Restaurant Open and Serving Delicious Food

We are happy to share that KlĂŒddes Cast Iron Restaurant at Parrish Ranch is open and serving absolutely delicious food, with the friendliest staff ever â˜ș Their initial hours are Wednesday through Sunday, from 8AM – 1PM for breakfast and brunch, and back for dinner from 4PM to 8PM, with hours subject to expand in the future. Enjoy comfort food surrounded by warm and cozy ambiance, and don’t forget dessert—their apple pies are incredible, and we certainly know about apple sweets 😉

The rest of the shops at the ranch are open Friday through Monday from 10AM – 5PM, and we’ve got lots of fun things to find. If you’re looking for gifts, for yourself or others, consider an art piece from The Oak Glen Art Gallery right across from Kluddes, or a hard-to-find item from Parrish House Antiques, nestled in the old Sequoia forest on the north side of the ranch. Or, if the gift-recipient is younger, check out the selection of interesting and unique toys at Granny’s Attic. Right next to Granny’s is Et Cetera, where you can find fine home dĂ©cor and collectibles.

And of course, down at the barn, we’ve got the fixins you’ll need if you feel like adding some pizazz to your recipes, along with apple cider and wine for refreshments. The barn also has its own assortment of trinkets and treasures  to browse, and you can try-before-you-buy at the wine tasting counter.

After a couple of weekends of wet and chilly weather, it’s finally looking like we’re headed for springier temperatures this weekend, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday looking at mid fifties and partly cloudy at most. Bring a light jacket just in  case, and come on up to see what’s new at the ranch! 😊

January 26-28, 024: Free Parking, Apple Burritos, and Mild Weather

No snow in the forecast just yet, but we have lots of tasty treats waiting to be discovered! If you haven’t tried our apple cider yet, maybe this weekend will be when that changes 😉 You can serve it both hot and cold, and it does well with embellishments like a stick of cinnamon or even a bit of cinnamon whiskey to really warm you up ☕

Also on deck are our classic apple burritos–apple pie filling wrapped in a flour tortilla, deep fried in a sugar glaze, like a handheld apple pie. If you feel like adding something special to your recipes or on top of your morning toast, check out our selection of butters in all kinds of flavors, from apple to fig & walnut. And if you don’t feel like cooking, we’ve got New Zealand style meat pies, hot dogs, nachos and more, ready to eat at the snack bar 🌯

It’s set to be a beautiful weekend, only partly cloudy with highs in the mid-sixties. Parking is free as always, and the picnic park is ready to welcome you đŸ§ș We hope you’ll stop by to enjoy a bit of this mild winter weekend with us!

Weekend Update for January 19 – 21, 2024

Happy Friday Eve, folks! Most of our nation seems to be under freeze and blizzard warnings, but so far we’re just expecting temperatures in the mid fifties for tomorrow, with some clouds, but no precipitation is in the forecast. Saturday looks like we could be getting some rain, but with temperatures predicted in the forties, we’re not looking at snow (or the much less fun frozen treat, ice rain). Sunday’s forecast says to expect clouds, and a 10% chance of rain.

So, no chains needed to visit us this weekend, just remember a coat and maybe your favorite scarf 🧣 And if you don’t have one, check out our selections at Etc., Granny’s Attic, and Parrish House Antiques! Meanwhile, we’ll keep the cider and chocolate hot down at the barn😉

January 7, 2024: Parking Lot Frozen

Happy Sunday, folks! We had freezing temperatures last night, leading to the parking lot becoming an ice rink. It’s not snow, so we can’t plow it, and it won’t be warm enough to melt it until much later this afternoon. Our lot is on a relatively steep grade, so out of an abundance of caution to keep everyone safe, we’re remaining closed today (January 7, 2024).

We’ll see you Friday!
