Exciting news! Our very first batch of apple cider for the 2016 apple season will be on our cooler’s shelves tomorrow, August 13! For those of you who’ve been missing that crisp, sweet, tart flavor on your tastebuds, the wait is over! And if you’ve never tried our cider before, you’re missing out–we can promise, one sip of it and you’ll never be able to appreciate grocery-store cider again 😉 The weather is forecasted to be absolutely lovely, and the park is always cool and shady, so if you’re feeling the end-of-summer blues, visit us up here and discover how much you’ve actually missed autumn!
It’s that time of year again! We’re having our annual Buccaneer Days at the end of August on the 27th and the 28th. This is a sort of unofficial kick-off for apple season, and we’ll have our True West Pirates up here performing their shows with high falls, cannon fire, sword-fights and gun battles. We’ll also have our array of vendors with their delightful wares, and of course, our snack bar in the barn, with chili dogs, root beer floats, nachos, frozen yogurt, popcorn, and more, along with Granny’s Attic–toys galore!–and Etc (lovely and elegant home decor). The Wildland Images gallery will be open so you can browse the renowned artists Fariad and Jennifers’ amazing pieces, and we have a brand-new antique shop open at Parrish House Antiques–this is your chance to visit the historic Parrish House and maybe find a “new” antique for your home. There’s also going to be face painting, a costume contest, a watermelon-eating contest, and fencing lessons and sparring matches. Trust us, we’ve got your day’s entertainment completely covered, so come join us on the slightly-cooler mountain at the end of August for a wonderful day of family fun!Â
Happy Independence Day! Parrish Ranch will be open on Monday, July 4th. We’ll have soft serve frozen yogurt available to help you cool off before the fireworks that night, along with the usual array of butters, jams, candies, wines, and patriotic gifts. We’ve got our barbecue sauces lined up to help you master the grill at your backyard party (including our well-known apple butter barbecue sauce). So bring your family up and hang out with us for a perfect end of the three-day weekend 🙂
Ahoy, mateys! We’ve got good news: our True West Stunt Team is back for the season and will be performing their Pirate Stunt Show every Sunday from now through December. Showtimes are 12:00 and 2:00, and as always, the shows are completely free. The seating area is shaded, and it’s always a few degrees cooler up here as well, so come on up to escape the heat and enjoy the show!
Our annual car show is already something to look forward to with all the cars, music, games, trophies, vendors, face-painting, and free pirate show, and now we’re adding something else to anticipate: Parrish House Antiques is having a soft opening on the day of the show (this Sunday), and they’re looking for vendors who’d like to rent space there for this coming apple season. So, come on up to the cooler mountain air of Oak Glen this Sunday, have some fun, eat an apple burrito, watch the pirates amaze everyone, and scope out not just the cars, but our newest shop as well…and maybe find your next business venture while you’re at it. We look forward to seeing you here!
Parrish Ranch is back online! It took far too long for our tastes, but nevertheless here we are.
