Labor Day Holiday Weekend

If there’s anything we’d call an “official” opening day of apple season, it’s Labor Day–and of course, the weekend that precedes it. As such, we’ve been harvesting our apples like crazy, and pressing cider every day to prepare for a traditionally busy weekend. We’re going to be hosting our array of vendors with their wide variety of wares, and both days of the weekend we’ll be offering entertainment. Saturday, we’ll have Andy Lepak with his country music out on our patio, so bring your partner and get a dance or two in before wandering in for some cold, crisp apple cider and a slice of apple crisp a la mode. On Sunday, as always, we’ll have our own True West Pirates wowing everyone with their Hollywood-esque stunts, for free as usual.

The varieties of apples we have on the shelves right now are Gravensteins, which are a semi-sweet apple breed developed in Denmark in the late 1700’s; Galas, which everyone knows for their sweet crispness; our own Vasquez, a tart cross between a Granny Smith and a Pippin and a definite fan-favorite; Parkdale Beauties, which are an antique variety with a sweet, pear-like flavor; and Pink Pearls, which are yellowish on the outside with a pale meat that tinges pink toward the center. We also have organic peaches and pears for a limited time right now. If you haven’t already come up this season, don’t miss the opportunity to catch these early-season apples before they’re gone!

Our new season hours are Monday through Friday 9-5, and Saturday and Sundays we’re here 9-6 through the end of November.

We look forward to seeing you!
