First Apples of 2020 Now Available! 8-22-20

We’re excited to let everyone know we have picked the first apples of the 2020 season!

We have Gravenstein, a variety which originated as far back as the 17th century and which has a tart flavor with a touch of honey–great for baking and apple sauce!

Second up is Gala, the classic, sweet and crunchy variety that’s perfect as a snack.
The third variety for this weekend is our very own Vasquez, which is named after Parrish’s foreman in the 60’s, Juan Vasquez. He crossed Granny Smith with Pippin and got the delightfully crispy and tart Vasquez, which is good for both eating and baking.
We also officially have fresh-pressed cider available, our signature no-sugar-added blend which currently consists of these three varieties. The flavor changes subtly throughout apple season, as different apple varieties mature and are added to the blend, so make sure you grab a jug of this first-cider-of-the-season while you’re here.
These apples spent the first part of this week still on the trees, so if you’re seeking some super fresh-picked apples, head on up to the ranch. We look forward to seeing you!
